Ghana was ushered into the second republican government in
Ghana's Second Republic began on October 1, 1969, following democratic elections organized by the military government (National Liberation Council). This ushered in a parliamentary system headed by Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia as Prime Minister and Edward Akufo-Addo as President.
